Growing up in the country, I was blessed with the ability to create beautiful things. Actually, I take that back. Growing up in the country, I was blessed with more time than I knew what do with and therefore forced to become creative and make sometimes beautiful things. That’s more like it.
While my friends were growing up watching MTV and biking to the local pool, I was scrapbooking, painting ceiling tiles, weeding the garden and attempting to turn an old barn board and a few pieces of twine into a snowboard. Not a week goes by that I am not creating or recreating something. I have a knack for seeing the potential in almost anything and the determination to see my projects unfold. There is something special about making something yourself and having the ability to do so. There is also something to be said about someone who can make their own snowboard—When I actually meet that person, I will let you know what that is.
